Three little girls dancing...

Dancing?... more like feeding ducks, playing in a natural jungle gym, and running in opposite directions. These were the precious little girls I had the pleasure to work with this week. Little Miss. Avery and her two cousins - Brooke and Isabella. I had a big group show up at the shoot. Grandparents, aunts and mommies - 6 - plus the kids. That's as much audience as I've ever had! The weather cooperated and it turned out to be a lovely afternoon. I had fun with all of you. Can't wait for everyone to see the pictures! You are going to love them. These are just a few from the bunch as a sneak peek.

Puppies and more announcements...

Take a look at these little cuties! This weekend my friend Lydia brought by her little chihuahua puppies so that I can take some pictures of them before she sells them. [If anyone is interested in buying a puppy, email me and I will get you in contact with them.] I am debating with myself whether I should keep one... James needs some convincing. We will see what I can accomplish in a couple of days.
On another note, I am excited to say that I have found my high school seniors for the casting call. Thank you so much for all the entries, and stories provided. I was amazed by the way some of you heard about the message! It was a tough choice to pick from all you nice young people. Here are the names of the winners: Alex, Taylor, Olivia and Britany. I can't wait to start working with you guys!

Landry's Session - Baton Rouge Maternity Photographer

I just finished fixing these pictures and I know that Mom & Dad would love to see a sneak peak. This was part ONE of my session with them - Soon baby Ava will be arriving!!
Meet the Landry's. What attracted me to working with this couple is the bond that they have with each other. I came over their house one night to survey where we would be taking the pictures, and after meeting dad and little Hudson I knew that this was going to be great. Dad suggested a certain pose that he wanted me to try, this was the first time a male client had told me exactly what they wanted, and I was so excited. I made sure that I took several angles and shots of this pose for him. I think that you will be very happy with it. I chose one to post here - my favorite - SO, here it is: your request and my interpretation of it. Oh, I must mention too that Hudson was a LCA's American Heart Association Cutest Kid winner. You will get to see more of him soon once we have the newborn shoot. He has very expressive eyes and I love his long lashes. GOOD JOB HUDSON!

THANK YOU GUYS for such a good time and allowing me to try out all my ideas... the pictures look great! Can't wait for you to see them.

To Everyone else - the casting call is still in effect. LOOKING FOR: Twins and Seniors graduating in 2009. Twins must be in the newborn - 3 year range. If you are pregnant with twins, that's perfect, you can still enter. Email me a picture and a little about yourself or your family. I've gotten some really good entries. I will be posting the results soon! PASS ON THE WORD!!

Favorites of 2008 - Part 2

More of my favorites of 2008... [so far]

These are our friends Jeremy & Jolane and their two boys - Tristan & Caleb. We had talked about taking pictures for them as a couple and family together - this summer we finally did it! I loved how spontaneous Jeremy was most of the time. This first pictures is one of my top favorites.
Here is Ainsley again. This picture of her and her brother below [Luke]- wasn't even a planned photo shoot - I was babysitting and just decided that I would pop out my camera and see if they would cooperate... and they did, beautifully.

Renessa & baby Clayton. Can't believe how big he is now. I just took pictures for them not too long ago and he was just so cute. He kept falling asleep - no matter how much we tried clapping and making noise - he was out cold. During his newborn shoot he was perfect though- he let me mess with him as much as I wanted. I love this shot of how he purposely kept sticking his little leg out... :)

Meet Sydney. Or as I like to call her Syd. She is our adopted niece - she belongs to our friends Tim & Jen. Syd loves her tia Abby and will pose forever for me. This day we were playing dress up at my house. I had a vision that she would look so cute in my hair rollers and I got to work... she sat there for a while watching t.v. while I struggled to get these big things in her hair. End Result: beautiful grown-up look-a-like Sydney.

Favorites of 2008 - Part 1

There's been a lot going on for me this year - whew it's almost over. I still have a couple more shoots scheduled before 2009 gets here - but I wanted to start posting some of my favorites from throughout the year. As soon as I get the main/portfolio site running they will all be there for everyone to see. Here is a sneak peek of the my picks of 2008!

This has been my favorite family to work with this year - the Carriere's. They were such a pleasure to photograph. I had intended to visit them to take pictures of the new addition to the family - Oliver. When I met his big brother and sister I knew I had a picture perfect bunch. Here they are... the Carriere's

Yes, this is the same little boy from my banner, Andrew. I never had to tell Andrew to look at me - he always had such an intriguing look and wanted to hold the camera so he could take pictures! I can't help but mention Sophia's desire to model - didn't matter if it was her turn or not, she was ready for me. I loved that! I want to thank you again so much for allowing me in your lives, your home for those couple hours of drama... I couldn't of asked for a better family to work with.

Lydia's Trash the Dress....

Ok... we didn't actually do anything that would trash this dress. We were actually very careful. This is Lydia. One of my very good friends. We had been talking for a while about taking pictures of each other in our wedding dresses... and it was now her turn. I haven't gotten my turn yet, but I will soon. This is my interpretation of Lydia's 2nd wedding - without Josh. I had so much fun during the photo shoot. We started at my house with the hair-up-do and went to the mall for her make up appointment. Next headed over to the flower shop - grabbed some pompoms and headed back home to put the dress on. It was all running kind of late because if you know Lydia, you know that she is never in a hurry. :) Goodness! The sun was coming down - so we decided just to drive around and stop in whatever I thought would be a cool place. And talking about cool - it was freezing outside. Poor Lydia was such a good sport with her strapless dress. I even have some close ups that you can see her goosebumps. We had people even stop by and roll down their window and tell me that I was torturing her. YEAH RIGHT... Lydia is from Minnesota, she should be able to take on the cold. I think it was all worth it. They all turned out so beautiful. Lydia is a perfect model and I know that I will use her again and again for other photo shoots. Thank goodness for good friends. THANKS LYDIA - YOU WERE AWESOME - AND SUCH A BEAUTIFUL BRIDE!

AHA Contest Winners

I just wanted to post some more pictures of the lovely Anna. She is too cute! I LOVED working with her. I will be taking pictures of the boy winner this week. Check back to see our Cutest Boy winner - Hudson. I will be also having my first maternity photo shoot this week. I'm so excited! [meaning I'm taking pictures of a future mother - not me, not yet... :) - just for clarification - since that seems to be a hot topic]

First Impressions

While I was in vacation I was able to meet [for the first time] my bestfriend's boyfriend - Denny. After much talk and seeing pictures, it was nice to finally meet face to face. I actually had a quick photo shoot with them, kind of what you call an engagement session. This is them - Rex & Denny. Denny proved to be a trooper. He stood over an ant pile for about 2 minutes without saying anything just so I can get the shot I wanted.
Tough love... good one Rex! James and I are looking forward to spending more time with you both.

All smiles today...

Little Miss. Ainsley was all smiles with me today. Of course it was all due to mom and dad jumping up and down making silly little jokes at her. I babysit her when her parents need a break every now and then. So, I knew that this would be a piece of cake. I always have fun with this family. We have a lot in common. Soon I will be taking their family pictures - can't wait to see how those turn out!
