this weekend...

Up starts in theater's  today and its playing in 3D! James and I are junkies for Disney movies and we can't wait to see it. So bring your kids to the movies for some good laughs - its supposed to be awesome - it got a 98% rating another success for Disney/Pixar. Let's see if it matches u to my favorites - Wall-E, Monster's Inc. ,Cars, Finding Nemo, A Bug's Life... and the list goes on because they are all so great. If you go see it, let me know what you think. Oh, this is going to be such a sweet weekend... tomorrow we're off to New Orleans for a family shoot... with a family that has 4 legged members too.  I love it when doggies are part of the family too... just like little Coco. Have a great weekend everyone. See you at the movies!!!

Dad's Surprise Session - Baton Rouge Children's Photographer

That's right this session is a surprise for Daddy. Mom wanted to get the kids holding the letters D & A out to spell DAD in a 3-hole frame. We thought it would be quite easy... but man were these kids a challenge. Not because they wouldn't cooperate, but how funny they were. This little man made me laugh so hard I had to sit back and stop shooting and let it out. Little Audrey is only 3 months old so she was just there squinting in the sun... that is until Mason got a hold of her. Mason definitely took over. I have a series of when he tried to carry her - I just love it. It's these kind of pictures that when they grow up, Audrey will not believe what her big brother did to her. So mom here is your preview. Can't wait to show you the rest.
I love these next two. His happy expression to be freely running.... just love it.

We are looking for 2010 Senior Representatives

It's that time of year again... juniors are now seniors and school is just around the corner again. Sadly, I know - for some of you that are glad that it just ended. This year I wanted to start the rep program early to ensure that I get seniors from all schools in the Baton Rouge - New Orleans area and every where in between. Last year I had such great gals that made it so much fun. So definitely looking forward to new ones this year. Let me know if you have any questions about becoming a senior rep. It's a great promotion - not only do you get more attention to detail but awesome deals. More information on the perks will be sent to each senior once chosen. Not quite a senior yet? Don't have a senior yourself? Forward the message to friends and family!

For those of you that aren't quite sure as to what a stand-out looks like - here are some of my own from my office. Stand-outs are some of the many products I offer for your pictures and have become one of my client's favorite. These on the pictures are all 10x10. They come in various customizable sizes and you get to choose whether you want a white or black edge. Just like the gallery wrap canvas it comes ready to hang. A bit of a classic modern piece. So next time you are deciding what are you going to order... take a second look at the stand-outs.

... some time in Miami

This summer is going to be insane... in the best way possible. So much going on. Last time I was in Miami I got to work with my friends Steph & Leo in a very sexy e-session. Next month I will be visiting again - its my best-friend's Bridal Shower and there is lots still to plan/do before the wedding. Along with shooting their e-session, I plan to have some time to work with anyone interested. Here are the dates I will be available: June 17,18,19,21,22. Then it's wedding time! Yay!... and I will be in Miami again - I'm so thrilled that I get to go back so soon after. I will be available: July 16,17,19,20. I am hoping to work with my lovely Miami people again. I always have so much fun when I'm back home - and can't wait to see what happens this summer. Let me know if you would like to schedule a shoot - doesn't have to be an engagement session - I am up for anything and everything. Get creative. I have something special up my sleeve for Rex & Denny - this won't be your average e-session ... can't wait. Oh and its beach season - well really, in Miami it's always beach season - but for my home people... it's the time we actually get in the warm water - so bring out your bikinis! Let's do a swimsuit shoot. Haha - I just get caught up in my excitement. So, again if you are interested email me and we will work it!
On another note - right along with all this traveling jive - Minnesota and New York City here we come! That's also in the works for the summer- further details will come soon on dates and travel plans.
I wanted to send much love to my twilight junkie - Miss. I'm no longer brace face - Baby J. Yes everyone that is her nickname. Can't wait to see that smile - LOVE YOU. She just got her braces off and I know its a pretty big deal - I've been there twice and all I wanted to do was show the world my pearly whites. It's the least you can do after all that pain and suffering. So, baby show 'em off - eat lots of gooey sticky stuff and SMILE  I bet they are lovely. That's Jael working it while on vacation last November in the Bahamas...

Elliana Newborn Session Part 2

Here is part 2 of my session with Elliana. I had a lot of inspiration from some of my favorite photographers and tried out some of their signature poses. She was awake almost the whole time and still managed to behave so well for me. Enjoy!

Coco's recovery

My poor little man. I never thought this would be so bad. I mean how bad can it be when you are 3 pounds and don't know what is going on - other than momma brought you to the doctor and they gave you a shot to go to sleep and when you wake up you look down and they are gone. no pain - lots of meds -  just some stitches and a goofy looking cone that doesn't let you scratch yourself. Again - poor little man. He has been really good though, despite of the surgery - just very whiny and wants to be held and played with ALL THE TIME. So folks, unless your pooch has a mad humping disease that has everyone avoiding your place - don't do it to the poor little ones. Just look at his sad face wearing that cone that's almost twice his size. At first he didn't even want to look at me. He was so mad . Kept trying to yank that thing off, rubbing against the floor/couch/wall/legs... but now he is used to it. Vet says he has to wear it for 10 days... until he gets his stitches removed. We will see if he lasts with it on that long. I think he looks so cute no matter what - we call it his new hat. So for my friends that have been wondering what he looks like... and why I haven't let anyone come make fun - here are a couple of shots of Coco while I've been working/reading and just watching him complain with those big green eyes.
I'm interested in the name-calling that I will get after posting this. Be sensitive - how would you feel if some one cut off your manhood! Coconut, I LOVE YOU and I'm so sorry I put you through this... forgive me coquito!

what's going on?

It seems like I've been so busy lately, I haven't been able to talk about whats going on besides all the sessions. Which I couldn't be happier for- it's starting off as a great year. As a family update - Coco [commonly referred to as Coconut, Coco Puffs, Coquito] is getting big [not really he is still 3 pounds, maybe just older] and super protective. Whenever people come over the house he pretends to be our guard dog. Even to my poor senior Karli - he wouldn't quit until I patted her and let him know that she was OK. Sorry Karli again for his behavior - we both know he likes you now. Coco is getting neutered tomorrow. That's the reason for this post... as an apology to Coco for killing his manhood. I know that I am probably going to cry when I leave him tomorrow at the vet. I am such a softy for this little midget. He wins my heart with his big green eyes and little pink nose. James and I will play around the house trying to get him to choose sides - every time he growls at James & tries to scare him away from me, my heart melts. Oh yes, I know that you are probably thinking I need kids... all this about a dog... but for right now since I don't have any children- Coco is my baby. As you can see in the pictures he is still into the backyard flowers - he bites them off and spits them out. Crazy pooch.
I have several summer trips planned and I will be available to do shoots in Miami again. I will posting my travel dates soon - so just for my Floridian folks that read the blog... I am coming home again... yay for me! Hopefully I can work with some young couple at the beach or at the docks like Leo & Steph's session. I am off to do my second part of Elyana's session - such a cutie patootie.

Elliana Preview Part I - Louisiana Newborn Photographer

I've had been looking forward to working with this little one ever since I talked with her mom while she was still in the oven. I knew that she was going to be a cutie. She's got mom and dad to thank for that - so easy to work with and look at - they are hot stuff! I love it when parents are ready to try anything and it just flows from one pose to another easily. The weather didn't cooperate with us very much so we decided to divide the session in two parts. Tomorrow I will be visiting them again for baby's solo shots and a couple more with mommy. Hopefully she will be as good as she was yesterday. Heather I know that you have been looking forward to a preview and I tried giving it to you as quick as I could. See you tomorrow! Everyone else take a look at this beautiful little girl and her "model" parents. Aren't they picture perfect?
Stay tuned for part two of this post coming to you shortly!
